Muhammed Tahir Dahiru is a Nigerian financial analyst, professional accountant, tax, and audit specialist with many years of experience, working particularly as an internal auditor and also as lecturer in the department of accounting at ABU, Zaria. I began my accounting career after obtaining a B.Sc. in accounting and being qualified as a chartered accountant by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). My research area covers different aspects of accounting, which include auditing and investigation, forensic accounting, taxation, public sector accounting, accounting system, corporate governance, finance and procurement management. I am a member of many professional bodies, including the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants and the ICMA Nigerian Accounting Association (NAA), among others.
My expertise and skills cut across many aspects of accounting, with a passion for taxation and finance. Areas of core skills include: proficiency in the use of accounting systems; a good knowledge of accounting software such as Sage 50, ACL, etc.; a good knowledge of statistical packages and data analysis, including Stata, E-Views, SPSS, etc.; the ability to work under less supervision; the ability to multitask under pressure when required; and the ability to demonstrate corporate knowledge and fairness.
I obtained my M.Sc. and PhD in Accounting and Finance at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, I work rouse through the rank of Reader and was recommended to the rank of Professor in October this year, subject to external assessment.
